STUDIO CITY, CA -- The story of the day was the Kings' 19-run rally in the 2nd inning, which allowed them to cruise to a 23-6 victory.
The Doyers had no answer for the Kings' offense that inning, as the Kings sent 24 batters to plate. After getting the first two
batters of the inning to ground out, lead-off hitter Ethan Wolferman started the rally with a single through the 3-4 hole. The Kings went on to
put the next 21 batters on base, including 17 basehits.
After two innings, the score was 21-0.
The Kings' Madison Dang started the offense with his 3-run homer in the 1st inning. It was a towering shot that stayed just insiide the left
field foul pole. Dang collected a single and a double in his next two at-bats. His 3-for-6 day with 5 RBI and his relief pitching performance
earned him the Chmapionship MVP. Randy Cseh was also just as impressive at the plate. In just the second inning alone, he
went 3 for 3, with 6 RBI and a triple. He finished the day 4 for 6. Wolferman and Steven Gorman also hit well, each collecting three
hits. Gorman had 3 RBI and a double.
Other than the fist two innings, the Doyers played well. Marshall Plouffe came in relief in the second to blank the Kings over the next 5.1
innings. He struck out seven and allowed only one hit.
The Doyers finally got on the board in the 5th with two runs. In the 6th, the Doyers scattered 4 hits and scored 4
runs. Giovanni Mazola led all Doyers hitters, going 4 for 5 on the day. Dave Matthews, Nick Santoro, and Jordan Wolff
all hit well with two hits each.
Randy Cseh pitched well enough over 5.2 innings to pick up the win. Madison Dang closed out the last 3.1 innings without allowing a run,
and he earned the save. Cseh pitched a very impressive playoff series, going 3-0, and leading the Kings to their first CABO
Championship.

LANCASTER, CA -- The AVMABL All-Stars challenged the All-Stars from the California Adult Baseball Ogranization (CABO)
of the San Fernando Valley to a friendly exhibition game at Lancaster's Jethawk Stadium. CABO jumped ahead 2-0
in the opening inning on a mammoth
446-ft 2-run homerun
by cleanup hitter, Marshall Plouffe. However, CABO soon lost the lead in the bottom half of the inning, giving up 5 runs.
CABO pulled to within 10-8 after the 4th inning, but that was the closest margin the rest of the game. The AVMABL jumped
ahead 17-8 after scoring 7 runs in the top of the 5th.
Kenny Lawson and Joseph Ramirez led all CABO hitters with 3 hits each. Lawson contributed 2 doubles and scored twice.
Ramirez hit a double and a homerun and scored 3 times. After struggling a bit from start and striking out 6 times in
the first 3 innings, the CABO hitting attack balanced out nicely. All 10 starters had at least one hit.

NEWBURY PARK, CA -- The Kings and the Legends played a very close game, until the Legends broke open a 3-2 game with a 3-run
6th inning, taking a commanding 6-2 lead. The Kings scored first in the top of the 1st inning with Jon Beckerman scoring on a wild pitch.
The Legends responded in the bottom half of the inning with 2 runs. Mario Castanon and Jerry Madueno, Jr. both scored. The Kings closed the
gap in the 4th inning, after Christian Cardenas led off the inning with a double and Marcus Goodwin singled him home. That was as close as the
Kings would get. Carlos Rodriguez, Madueno Jr, and Pablo Garcia would all score in the 6th. Mario Coral and Cirilio Escutia both scored in the 8th
inning, and Castanon added the final run in the 8th inning on another Madueno, Jr. base hit.
Rudy Lopez, the Cy Young of the 2010 Spring/Summer season, started on the mound for the Legends. He allowed on 1 hit and 2 ER in 4 innings
of work. Pablo Garcia pitched the next 4 innings to earn the win, without allowing any runs and only 2 hits. The Kings' Lake Perry once again
through a complete game for the Kings.

Black Sox Beat Undefeated Legends, 10-8, for 2010 Summer Championship

The Black Sox managed to overcome a 6-0 deficit to hand the Legends their first loss all season. In an exciting finish,
the Black Sox and Legends were tied 8-8 in the top of the 9th, when Ryan Malleus hit the go-ahead 2-run double. Mike Huerta
was awarded the MVP of the game. Congrats to the Black Sox for winning on the big stage at Rancho Cucamonga's Epicenter.
Special congrats to the Legends for completing a remarkable 18-0 regular season, who just joined this Los Angeles baseball league this year.

East Defeats West in Late-Inning Thriller, 8-7
Aaron McKenzie Delivers 3-run Homer in 8th
CHATSWORTH, CA -- The East All-Stars, featuring the top players from the Black Sox, Storm, and Quakes pulled off the unlikely
win over the West All-Stars, featuring the top players from the undefeated Legends, Doyers, and Kings.
Spencer Wolff of the Quakes knocked in the go-ahead runs in the 7th with a 2-run double, which put the East ahead for the first
time all game, 5-3.
In the bottom of the 7th, the West scored once to narrow the gap to 5-4, but in the very next inning, the Black Sox',
Aaron McKenzie, delivered the final blow in the 8th with a 3-run homerun blast.
The West continued to crawl back the next two innings and
stranded the tying and game-winning runs in scoring position in the bottom of the 9th. Spencer Wolff held off the West's rally to earn
the save, while Michael Huerta pitched a solid 5 innings to earn the win for the East. Rudy Lopez of the Legends pitched a terrific
6 innings for the West, allowing only 2 R and 6 H with 5 K's in a no-decision.

CHATSWORTH, CA -- The Shockers and Black Sox played a solid, competitive game for much of the game. The first 5 innings was a pitchers' dual,
with Colin Ward-Henninger going neck-to-neck with Cale Hamilton. The Black Sox finally pulled ahead 2-1 in the top of the 5th with Hamilton's RBI
single. Cole Van Buryn broke the game open in the top of the 6th with a 3-run homerun. The Black Sox poured on an addional 3 runs in both the 8th
9th innings, as the Shockers seemed deflated by the point. David Talley provided some of the fireworks with an 8th-inning solo shot to
center field, his third of the fall season. Kyle Love added more insurance runs with a 2-RBI single later in the 8th. Catcher Matt Horn
led all hitters with a 4 for 5 performance and 4 runs scored.
The Shockers mounted a small
comeback of their own in the bottom of the 9th, scoring 4 runs and leaving the tying run two spots away from the on-deck hitter. Tom Rochin,
Jason Surat, Greg Borish, and Anthony Khoury all knocked in a run, but it was too little, too late as the Black Sox hung on for a the 11-5
victory.

Congrats to both the Storm and Los Doyers for
a great season. The large turnout of families and friends at Jackie Robinson Stadium provided for a terrific
conclusion to the Inaugural CABO season!

WESTWOOD, CA -- The Storm went down to the wire against Los Doyers, stranding the tying run at 2nd in the bottom of the 9th.
Los Doyers barely hung on for 12-11 victory, as they survived two near comebacks of 4+ runs from the Storm. When it looked as
if the Storm were done heading into the bottom of the 8th and down by 5, they scored twice and then 3 more in the 9th.
Los Doyers opened the game with a bang and scored 4 quick runs to open the 1st. Nick Santoro ignited the scoring with a
towering homerun
to left. Danny Stevenson and Will Volkmann both singled to complete the scoring. The Storm got on the board the following inning, with an RBI
double from Brett Tonkiss. Stevenson notched his second RBI single of the game in the top fo the 3rd to put Los Doyers up 5-1. The 4th inning was
the only scoreless inning of the game.

The stars of CABO were out. It was a great day for baseball at Valley College. All of the top players from each of the league's 6 teams
were in attendance. The first-place Doyers teamed up with the Gamecocks and Sandlot to face the team comprised of players from the Kings,
Storm, and Titans.
Congrats to Marshall Plouffe, who won the first annual CABO Homerun Derby. His 4 homeruns were enough to win the contest. Plouffe excited the
crowd with a couple mammoth homeruns early in the round, including a 400+ foot shot to straight-away center. Josh Miranda, of the
Gamecocks, finished 2nd, with his 3 towering homeruns to right field.

The All-Star game itself followed the Homerun Derby. The West All-Stars, managed by Kings' manager, AG Gersh, defeated the East All-Stars, who were
managed by Nick Santoro of Los Doyers. In what looked like a blowout after the 6th inning, the East battled back to pull within 5 at 13-8. However, it was too
little, too late. Jess Sanchez shut the door for the West by pitching the last 2 innings. It was a total team effort in the win for the West. Matt Wabby of
the Kings started on the mound, throwing 3 innings and giving up only 1 ER. Chris Kane followed with a solid 2 scoreless innings. Harry Grace pitched
the next 2 innings, before giving way to Sanchez in the 8th. The West's hitting was very balanced, as 12 of the 14 players had at least one hit. Brett Tonkiss
of the Storm led all batters with 3 hits.
The East All-Stars also had a couple good hitting performance from Angel Espindola and Mike Noteware of Sandlot and Marshall Plouffe of Los Doyers, who each had
2 hits. Steve Diaz of Sandlot scored twice and stole 2 bases. Jason Mitchell missed a homerun by less than 2 feet, with his 7th shot of the left-center wall. Even
though he was held to a long single, it scored Alan Eldridge from 1st, to pull within 5 runs.

By the end of the game, it was Jose Angulo of the Titans, whose performance stood out most, en route to earning MVP honors (and a Nike team helmet).
Angulo broke the game open in the 1st with his bases-loaded line-drive double, scoring 3 runs. In the 5th, Angulo also hit a 2-run single to ignite the
West's rally. Not only was it his hitting, but also Angulo's strong fielding at second base, which solidified his MVP honors. Every ball hit his way was converted into an out.
In the 7th inning, Angulo made the defensive play of the game on a sharply hit ground ball that appeared to take a last-second bad hop. Angulo barehanded the
ball and calmly threw out the runner. That play received a standing ovation from the dugout.
